looking for a calm hound..

Bailey Meets Ball Saw this posting today and chuckled… calm hound is an oxymoron to highest power.

Hi. I’m looking for a calm hound dog, any type, but most particularly basset, beagle, etc. to be in _______ Theatre’s upcoming production of The Mistress of the Inn, an 18th Century Italian comedy. Our hound fell through. The dog would be needed for 2 dress rehearsals, and then the show dates. The dog makes a walk on appearance in the first ½ hour of the show. S/he could be in by 7:45 and out by 8:45. Please–anyone know of one?

I was going to send in Bailey’s glossy 8×10 for consideration but then figured he wouldn’t be able to “walk” onto stage, and I’m more concerned he would leap off stage to smell everyone in the audience after his appearance.

Snake found near Tawas??

I’m having a hard time believing this, and I can’t seem to find anything online to confirm it, but Fran’s name does appear often in the Iosco County paper so who knows…

snake in Tawas?

So, as the story goes…

This snake was recently found at the gypsum plant located just south of Tawas city by Fran Mathy while installing a meter for Consumers Energy.

The gypsum plant is located about miles south of Tawas, Michigan on US..HIGHWAY 23.

For reference, that is about 15 miles from the cabin so hopefully snakes that big prefer to stay close to Lake Huron.

Reason #42 to avoid Vista

Turned my laptop on this morning to see this message while waiting for my login screen to appear.

Seriously…where is the fun in this, Vista?  Usually you hobble along two thirds of the day before requiring a hard reboot.  A message like this might as well read I’m sorry…you’re screwed.  You might as well use this time to grab a cup of coffee.

The Song of the Count

I couldn’t help but repost this for the few people who read my blog and not Dave’s ;)

Amazing how a couple well-placed bleeps can turn Sesame Street into Adult humor.
